In honor of the holiday, I thought I’d put together a list of some favorite scary comics so I can share/inflict them on all of you. ;D

Now, scary is subjective. Some of these are shocking, while others are more psychological in nature. However, I think they’re fun either way, and hopefully you find some enjoyment as well!

His Face All Red & Margot’s Room - Emily Carroll

Both of these fall more under the psychological horror realm. I’d read “His Face All Red” sometime last year, and it still gives me the heeby jeebies at the end. Emily is a master of pacing and using her canvas to maximum effect. “Margot’s Room” is a little tricky to navigate at first, but each object in the room is clickable. Use the little poem as a guide to what should be clicked first, and each section is labeled with a number to help.

Bongcheon-Dong Ghost - Horang

Reading this one with your speakers on is a must! And preferably not in a crowded area/work. It’s a Korean ghost story based on “true events.” Whenever I read this one, I have to read it with my arm at full extension scrolling down the window, and one eye scrunched shut. I can barely handle it. XD

The Enigma of Amigara Fault - Junji Ito

This is a short manga by the professional horror manga creator behind such things as Uzumaki and other creepy stuff. This one I would classify more in the psychological realm, I guess, as it’s something slower and painful. It’s the kind of thing that’ll give you nightmares if you dwell on it. WARNING: Not for people with Claustrophobia! SERIOUSLY.

The Witch’s Scissors - Habe & Alana Yuen

This is a newer one I just found this last week. Again, I would recommend keeping your speakers on, and hang out on that last page for a bit to get the bonus experience. ;)
